How to Choose Pile Height and Base Width
A practical guide for measuring pile height, base width and profile groove details before requesting a weatherstrip quote.
Start with the profile groove
Base width should match the groove or bonding surface. If the strip is too narrow it may loosen; if it is too wide it may not install smoothly.
Match pile height to the real gap
Pile height should cover the gap without creating excessive sliding resistance. Buyers should measure the old strip and the actual sealing gap when possible.
Send usable measurement references
Clear photos, drawings, caliper measurements and old sample photos reduce quotation mistakes and help prepare a more reliable sample.
