Match the profile first
Custom brush seal should be developed around the actual groove, sliding clearance and contact surface. A product that looks similar may still fail if the backing width or pile height is wrong.
Prepare drawings or samples
Good references include extrusion drawings, cross-section photos, old seal samples and caliper measurements. For clip or finned structures, fin height and backing shape should be shown clearly.
Define performance target
Tell the supplier whether the goal is dust control, insect barrier, smoother sliding, lower noise or replacement supply. The target affects whether regular, siliconed or finned pile is more practical.
Confirm before bulk production
Approve sample fit, movement resistance, color, roll length and carton marks before mass production. Custom profiles should not be treated as generic commodity strips.
RFQ information checklist
Before requesting price, prepare these details so the supplier can check size, packing, sample and repeat order feasibility.
- Product type or current sample photo
- Base width, pile height and fin requirement if applicable
- Adhesive or non-adhesive installation method
- Color, roll length and packing requirement
- Target quantity and repeat order plan
- Application photo, drawing or window profile detail
- Destination country or port
