Why base width matters

Base width is the first fit check for groove-inserted wool pile weatherstrip. If the base is too narrow, the strip may move inside the profile. If it is too wide, installation can deform the backing or slow production.

Why pile height matters

Pile height should be checked against the real gap after the sash or door moves. A low pile may not seal enough. A high pile can add friction, bend incorrectly or make sliding movement feel heavy.

When center fin is needed

A center fin is useful when a regular pile strip does not provide enough barrier for dust, air or water. The fin position and height should be checked with the profile groove and movement path before bulk order.

Why backing and groove fit should be checked

Backing thickness, backing shape and groove depth decide whether the strip stays stable after repeated movement. A clear end-view photo of the old strip or a profile cross-section drawing helps reduce wrong-size quotations.

Why color, roll length, carton mark and label matter

Repeat orders are easier when color, roll length, roll direction, carton mark and label content are confirmed early. These details help warehouse teams separate mixed sizes and help future orders match the approved specification.

What photos or drawings to send

Send a profile groove photo, old sample photo, end-section photo beside a ruler, application photo and any current drawing or supplier specification. If packing matters, include a label or carton mark reference.

  • Profile groove or frame photo
  • Old wool pile sample photo
  • End-section photo beside a ruler
  • Current drawing or size list
  • Label, carton mark or packing reference when repeat orders matter
